Medical Equipment
Students are responsible for the purchase of their own medical equipment: stethoscope, B.P. cuff, pen light, reflex hammer, ophthalmoscope/otoscope and tuning forks (128Hz) are required during the first year.
Students are also responsible for purchasing a white lab coat via the Undergraduate Medical Education Office. Information about this and the “White Coat Ceremony” will be circulated at the beginning of the first year. The Ceremony is held in September of the second year.
It is also recommended that students purchase a pager for ICM and Clerkships (Core and Senior Clerkships).
Changes are made after the publishing of this Calendar. Always check Class Schedule for the most up-to-date information. This includes class times, locations and instructors.

Note: “you” refers to students newly admitted, readmitted or returning to McGill.
